What does this mean?
Since several reports of illnesses and injuries have already been received by the FDA relating to this recall, it is especially important to take this recall seriously.
If you are using DIGOXIN tablets, check your bottle to find out who it was made by. If your tablets are made by Actavis, Mylan, Bertek or UDL you should return them to your pharmacy urgently to examine and possibly exchange. If you are not sure who has made your tablets, please take your bottle to your pharmacist for them to check as soon as possible.
Actavis Totowa LLC has initiated a nationwide recall of Digitek, a generic version of Digoxin which is used to treat heart failure and abnormal heart rhythms. These tablets may contain more drug than is appropriate.
This recall applies to all digoxin tablets distributed by Mylan pharmaceuticals under the "Bertek" brand name, and all digoxin tablets distributed by UDL laboratories under the "UDL" brand name.
