Traitée pour un cancer du colon en 2008 par chimiothérapie utilisant oxaliplatine (cisplatine) + 5 FU, j'ai développé une neuropathie périphérique touchant essentiellement les pieds qui m'empêche toujours de marcher normalement trois ans plus tard. D'où une grave atteinte à la qualité de vie : impossibilité se se chausser, de faire du sport , de conduire sa voiture, etc...

My husband had to be on this chemo drug for 6 doses. It is so toxic to the body and especially the kidneys that he was kept in the hospital for extended observation so he could be pumped full of fluids for 15 hours after getting the cisplatin. He did real well with the first 2 rounds. Round 3 started getting nausea by round 6 he could not even stand the smell of any food cooking. All of the side effects, hair loss, fatigue, low white blood cell count,(he got a nuelasta shot after each chemo round to counteract low wh;ite blood cells) seem to have been worth it as he was cancer free after his last PET scan.
