I take 20mg/day of Lutein as a supplement for eye health. I have an eye disease known as retinits pigmentosa and anything that's good for the eyes is very good for me. People usually take 6mg to 20mg/day. Vitamin A is known for its for its eye health benefits, but if you take too much of it it can be toxic for your liver. Combining 5,000 I.U. of vitamin A with lutein, fish oil, and 50mg of zinc each day is a good combination for your eyes.
