I have been using glimperide along with metformin500mg for the last one year. The sugar levels are maintained below 100.But some doctors expressed that the prolonged usage may weaken the pancreas functioning.Can any one offer an advice?I am 70 years old male.

I am new taking this med. have had low and very low blood sugar reading for almost everyday on this medication,,, should I be alarmed, is this very dangerous to my organs? Low read about 1 -1/2 to 2hours after taking it , So I am constantely needing to eat to bring it back to normal range, which has made me gain4-5 pounds in a 5 week period, Any suggestions ?

Does anyone had any mild or serious side effects with this medicine? AMARYL? I've been taking it for more than a year and it is working ok for me... less side effects that ACTOS (that i find out can 'give you' cancer of the bladder and pancreas, and I don't see anything in MEDIGUARD warning) So now I am worry about AMARYL.
