I have taken Ambien CR for several years. A friend told me to try half of a tablet since they are so expensive. It worked the same as a full tablet. I now cut the tablets into fourths and the fourth works the same as a full tablet. I am really saving now. I have no bad experiences with Ambien, no dreams or any hallucinations. I fall asleep within 30 minutes of taking my fourth of a pill and sleep about 8 hours each night.

As a nurse, I know this medication is very addictive. Therefore I ONLY take it after I have gone to bed and for whatever reason I am not falling asleep after an hour or so. I have no side affects and I only take .5 mg which works wonders. I do not wake up with any side effects. Normally the .5 mg will give me 6 hours of solid sleep. My doctor has approved up to .10 mg if necessary. Amiben works quickly, within 10 minutes and ONLY should be taken when going to bed. Again very addictive.
