Have been taking avandamet (avandia and metformin) for years with no problems. Really helps me keep my blood sugar under control. I hate Obamacare.......

I took one dose of Avandia 4 mg and my heart raced so wildly that it scared me and I refuse to take it anymore. I do not have high cholesterol or heart disease. My blood sugar is too high, which is why my Doctor tried me on Avandia. It really scared me so I will not take it. I also tried Actos, it did not change my levels at all. I currently take Glyburide Metformin and it isn't doing it's job either. I also tried Amaryl and I did not see any difference in my sugar levels. I don't know what else to try that may work, but changing meds makes me very nervous. I do worry about the side effects.

Because of all of the articles and comments about this drug, I finally convinced my Doctor to discontinue it and give me something in its place. I was started on Actos.
