What does it do?

This product is used to prevent acute rejection in adult patients who have had a kidney transplant. It belongs to an immunosuppressant class of medicines called a selective T-cell costimulation blocker.

I have been on Belacept for 31 months. So far my kidney function has been good, but other effectsI have had which may or may not be related, are gout in the ankle, weakness there and perhaps muscle weakness as I now have a hernia needin to be repaired, and my fillings in my teeth have needed repairs. Some of these could all be usual tansplant drug reactions as I am also on prednisone, 5mg pd and cellcept 500mg 2 x pd. Ths is an experimental drug being developed by Bristol Myers.
