What does it do?

just what are the serious side effects from taking zocor and biaxin. i have a dr that is really pushing for me to start the zocor knowing that i am on biaxin long term and lariam. i also have a history of irregular heart beats.

I was put on Clarithromycin 500 MG tablets today for a sinus infection. he FNP said that I should take it with food. I did that this afternoon after picking it up from the pharmacy. Within an hour, I has an abdominal pain, more severe than I have ever had, feeling like someone had taken a hot poker, just below my ribs,on my left side. I could not find any relief, for over 2 hours, then it started to subside. Tonite I took the second dose, and again, the pain came back, in the same spot. I am sitting here in pain right now. This feels as though someone has a red hot poker going in the front, and coming out of my back. I will be call ing the Dr. first thing in the morning! I will revise the post as to what the Dr. says. As of right now, I am not taking this anymore, unless she can explain to me what is causing this pain! I would much rather put up with the sinus infection than to be put thru this agony!!!!! I hate when they use you as a guinne pig!

Twenty-four hours after starting generic Biaxin for pneumonia I began experiencing lower abdominal cramping which became frighteningly severe. The cramping seemed like gas pains, but far more painful. After rereading side effects, I stopped the medication and requested another antibiotic. The severe cramping lessened, but it took a week for the pain to completely go away. I have taken Biaxin before with no side effects, although I don't think it was generic. Has anyone experienced such a side effect before?
