Global Patient Feedback for Buspar (Buspirone)

I have been on Buspar for around 6 weeks now. I will now be upping the dose to 60mgs (the maximum recommended dose). For me the effects of this drug have been very subtle. Especially since I never really experienced any real physical symptoms of anxiety. However I do have reason to believe I suffer from an anxiety disorder on a more subtle psychological level if you know what I mean. I have noticed an overall reduction in excessive worrying and negative thoughts so I guess it's doing some good. The best thing about this drug is that it does not cause dependency and for me it has been completely side effect free (except maybe for helping in the return of my libido but that might also be a result of feeling better). I also take Buproprion for depression so at times I'm not sure what is doing what but I and others around me have noticed a positive overall change and there is no denying the link between anxiety and depression. I would recommend this drug unless you suffer from acute panic attacks in which case I'm not sure how helpful it would be. However it is quite tolerable and I have no problem sticking with it for the foreseable future.

For those of you who experience panic attacks, like I do once in awhile, breathing helps prevent them from becoming too severe. I was on buspar and it did help. If I felt an attack coming on I would take some deep breaths and tell myself that it's ok. I'm now on elavil and I haven't had an issue with panic attacks.

I found out that this medicine causes a rash on my legs, so I stopped. It didn't seem to help me much anyway!
