I have been taking Byetta for about four years and it has enabled me to lose about 50 pounds. I started on 5 mcg and couldn't tolerate 10 when my doctor tried to increase it. I am now happy and successful on 5 mcg. I find no side effects on 5 mcg, though 10 was causing great nausea and frequent vomiting. But I discontinued that level quickly and have been fine since. My A1c is 5.4 and my average post dinner blood glucose reading is under 100. So glad I found this medication. For a needle phobic person like me, the injections are absolutely painless and easy.

I have used Byetta(10mcg two times a day) for 4 years and the only side affect is a weight loss of 32 lbs. The good side of this drug is my A1C was a high of 12 to a low of 5.5 with no other drugs except 75 mg of diclofenac one time a day. I take a mult- Nutrient Daily Supplement and enjoy all foods with some moderation. Best thing to come on the market for Diabets in my life time. ED

I have used Byetta for 4-1/2 years with no real side effects. It brought my A1C down from over 7 to below 6. I use it in combination with Actos Plus Met. It bewilders me why more doctors don't prescribe it. The FDA is dragging its feet on the long acting version which is a real shame for patients. The only problem I ever had was the issue with getting the wrong size needles prescribed. Not only did the doctor's office goof but the pharmacy didn't check it either.
