What does it do?
This product is used in the treatment of hypertension, angina and some heart arrhythmias. It works by slowing the flow of calcium into heart and vascular smooth muscle.

My daughter began having severe monthly migraines at age 15. After suffering for a year with pain meds designed to aid once the migraine had already taken hold (Zomig and generic pain medication) our family doctor prescribed 80 mg per day of Verapamil. This product has been WONDERFUL. In the last two-years she has only had one mild migraine and that was over a year ago. The only side effect is occasionally feeling light-headed if she stands too quickly. All-in-all this it is worth her not suffering two days of pain and being drugged up on other medication that has many other side effects. 17-Year old Female

I was given Verapamil in addition to Felidopine. By the end of two weeks I had gross pitting oedema of both lower legs which resolved, on stopping the drug, into bright red skin with 'solid ' swelling of the lowere legs, swollen ankle and foot joints. This condition had not resolved after 8 weeks. The oedema then increased and was attributed to a reaction to Felodipine . This dose was reduced by half, and after six weeks reduced by half again before stopping treatmant. The consultant had given me rwo calium chabnnel blockers together, to which I had extreme reactions. It has taken 5 monthes for my legs to become reasonably normal again. It has also left me with weakened leg muscles and at present I can no longer do sustained walking.

i am on 40mg benicar and 360mg verapamil. for the last 1 year i am experiencing moderate erectile dysfunction. My doctor is saying that verapamil is causing it. He is recommending cardizem CD 360mg instead or i could use levitra 10mg. I thought Cardizem also gives ED just like Verapamil and i mentioned that to the doctor.Is Levitra a better version of viagra and does it effect one's blood pressure? Appreciate your comments thanks
