Global Patient Feedback for Claritin (Loratadine)
Please see our forum guidelines.
I'm recovering from PTSD and Alcohol addiction. I took Claritin D for three days in December 2010 and had a problem (I couldn't be around anyone else) with anxiety. Since Claritin was the most recent change, I stopped and in 24 hours the anxiety went away. I then tried regular Claritin with the same results. I am taking Zoloft, Trazodone and Buproprion every day. I'd say if you have PTSD, stay away from this drug. Ceterizine (Zyrtec) does not cause this problem for me.

I also have vertigo. I am very concerned. My balance is terrible. My walking is impaired because of a bad knee. I need a knee operatrion. It is very expensive. I use to take claritin every day. My docter told me to take Zertec. If a motion sickness pill will improve my balance, I will certainly try them.

Back in 1985-1989 I had 2 Sinus Surgeries & 1 Jaw Surgery after that. Recently I have bouts with Vertigo, Head Congestion which effects my ears cause of the blowing & Sinus Rinse. I have had testing & have been to Physical Therapy for Vertigo. PTist. said my balance is Really bad & I know I'm losing my motor skills. Also had hearing test which I am losing hearing equally in both ears. I also had a CAT scan which Dr.(Head, throat, ear) said no infection but only signs of pass Surgery. & PCP said it shows that right side is blocked. I still get this itch deep in the throat & drain from nose, eyes & cough is so bad that I gag. Of course spitting up mucus sometimes slight blood. I tried Singular & Fluticasone Propionate Spray (Flonase) to no avail. Dr. added in Loratadine (Claritin) to no avail. Now he added in Azelastine HCI Spray & that only makes me sneeze over & over for awhile after using it. He has scheduled me to see an Allergist. I'm like "WHY" I don't care what's doing it....JUST FIX IT. ANY SUGGESTIONS OUT THERE?????
