I was not weaned off Valium, it has been tough. I was switched to Klonopin, when my Family Doctor wouldn't prescribe V that I was getting from my Psychiatrist. I wish some days I could take a Valium. I have Generalized Anxiety Order, having been hospitalized for it. if given a choice, I would rather take it.

I have been taking Valium since the early 90's. My present dose is 30mg a day. 10mg in the morning and 20mg at bedtime if needed. I can also sub. The dose if I have any anxiety during the day. I never exceed my 30mg dose and there are many days I don't take the 30mg. It all depends on the situation. I suffer from COMBAT PTSD from Vietnam. I went a Nat'l Center for PTSD in West Haven, Ct at the VAMC Hospital in 92, it was a 17 week in patient program. The have shut down since then. I have been on numerous medications for PTSD and for me valium is one that works for soom reason. I don't feel addicted and there are days I go without completely and don't go into a panic when I don't have it. So I don't condemn it, it works differently for individuals. Inactive Marine Sgt.
