What does it do?
This product is used in the treatment of moderate to severe pain. It contains a narcotic which acts on the Central Nervous System producing an analgesic and drowsy effect.

Hello all, I am on Dilaudid 2 differant ways, one way is oral,the other is Dilaudid thru a intrathcal drug pump that is surgically implanted in my side. I have a huge problem with dry eyes, lips, ITCHING FROM HEAD TO TOE that won't stop.It's got so bad I can't even sleep anymore. If anyone has a remedy that works PLEASE pass it on. Sweating is horrible. Thanks for anything.. Michael...

I AM A 36 YR OLD DIABETIC AND I SUFFER FROM NEUROPATHY (AMONG OTHER THINGS.). I WAS TAKING METHADONE 3 TIMES A DAY FOR PAIN AND 8 MGS OF DILAUDID 4 TIMES A DAY FOR PAIN AS WELL. DRUG TESTING IS MANDITORY FOR ALL METHADONE PATIENTS BUT I RAN INTO SOME TROUBLE WHEN I TESTED NEGATIVE FOR DILAUDID IN MY URINE TEST. I DID HOWEVER TEST POSITIVE FOR REGULAR MORPHINE. THE DOCTOR THINKS THAT I TRADED MY PILLS (WHICH WORK VERY WELL FOR ME), FOR SOMEONE ELSES PILLS (WHICH DON'T WORK VERY WELL FOR ME AT ALL.) I WAS ON THE PROGRAM FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND HAVE NEVER HAD A BAD TEST BEFORE. I LOOKED UP DILAUDID ON ANOTHER MEDICAL SITE AND FOUND OTHER COMPLAINTS OF FALSE NEGATIVES BUT THERE WAS NO CAUSE MENTIONED. MY DOCTOR DOESN'T BELIEVE ME ABOUT THE OTHER REPORTS AND SAYS THAT THEY'RE ALL WRITTEN BY "CRACKPOTS". I AM WONDERING IF ANYONE ELSE HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM AND WHAT MIGHT BE CAUSING IT.

62 OLD FEMALE BEEN ON PUMP WITH DILAUDID PUMP FOR 6 1/2 YRS I EXPERCING VERY DRY LIPS THAT STATED HAVING BLISTERS AND SWOLLEN LIPS FOR THE LAST YEAR AND THEY ARE GETTING WORSE I HAVE GOTTEN OFF ANY MEDICATION THAT CAUSES DRY MOUTH AND STILL HAVE THE PROPBELMS AND IT IS REALLY PAINFUL MY REGULAR DR, HAS TRIED ALL TYPES OF MEDS TO STOP THE PROBLEM BUT DOES NOT HELP BLOATING STOMAACH WEIGHT GAIN BUT MY DR.IS THINGJNG IT HAS TO BE THE PUMP NOW ALSO VAGISIAL DRYNESS ALSO BLISTERS HAS ANYONE HAD ANY PROBLEMS LIKE THIS DESPERATE
