I can't remember when I stated taking Effexor XR, it's been that long. I started on a very low dose a gradually increased to 2 75mg caplets per day. After about a year of taking it that way went to 1 150mg/day and have been on that for years, too. Never had a single problem. If I run out, I can sure tell the difference in my moods within a short time. It sure keeps my "General Anxiety/Depression" in check.

Effexor XR started to give me violent diarrea in Sept. 2011. I had been taking this medicine for 8 years and am puzzled by the reaction. Doctor changed me to Cymbalta and I can tolerate this with a meal.
