Global Patient Feedback for Feldene (Piroxicam)
Please see our forum guidelines.
My oral surgeon put me on Feldene to help with my tmj. I was told that my jaw problem was too bad for surgery and this is for the arthritis in my jaw also. So it is my only hope with the tmj. I am hoping it helps with the arthritis in the rest of my body as they took me off of mobic to take it. I am on a lot of other medications including ms contin and am hoping it does cause any bad interactions. Does anyone have a positive experience with this medicine and tmj?

I have suspended use - both because of cost and I have developed serious chest pains associated with what I believe to be acid reflux (I too Prevacid for 14 days and it seems to have gone away. I am 63 and have beem on piroxicam for about 12 years and i can sure feel stiffer joints now. Any alternatives that don't damage stomach?

I was given feldene to take for TMJ from my orthodonist in Sept. 2009. I was not told the warnings about this med. and feldene has caused peridontal problems and I have to have a deep cleaning on my gums soon. It is going to costs about 1,100.00 to correct the problems that feldene has caused. I WOULD LIKE TO TELL EVERYONE "NOT" TO TAKE THIS MEDICATION. If I had known it would cause gum problems I would had never , ever taken if. Be aware of the harmful side effects this medicine has caused. If you have sensitive gums and prone to bleeding then don't take it.
