Global Patient Feedback for Lopid (Gemfibrozil)
Please see our forum guidelines.
Have been taking Gemfibrozil for 15 years now twice a day, morning and evening, and haven't had any problems at all. It keeps all that bad fat stuff below 200. Also, I always eat a meal or something before I take any pills, so the pills have something to land on and dissolve, and don't have a chance to eat a hole in the bottom of my stomach. I have to take 9 pills in the morning, and 6 at night.

I've been trying to figure out if this med is causing serious tiredness, fatigue and I do take atacand, Metformin, aspirin a day, simvastatin, celexa a day. I fall asleep at work too while my blood glucose is normal. As far as muscle pain, yep, I get those too.

I have been on Gemfibrozil for @ 9 months and it has done wonders for my high tryglicerides as well as lowering my bad cholesterol. However, I have now started having extreme neck pain. Spasms and shooting pain going up from my shoulders to base of skull. Can make it livable with ice packs and ibuprophen, but still in pain. It's stabbing pain when I move my neck just a little bit. NOT an ordinary stiff neck. Not on any other med.s. Anyone else have these symptoms?
