There is no doubt in my mind that when I began taking one 250 mg tablet of magnesium in the morning and one again in the evening that my migraine issues improved dramatically. After approximately one month of magnesium supplement, I began having far fewer migraines and best of all, medication now actually has a positive effect on the headache.

Dr. Robert C. Atkins was a cardiologist who found that many of his heart patients tested low in Magnesium. You may know him as the proponent of a low-carb diet, but before he died from slipping on an icy sidewalk and suffering a skull fracture, he had a whole staff researching the theraputic benefits of various vitamins, herbs and minerals. The result of that effort is a book called "Dr. Atkins' Vita-Nutrient Solution - Nature's Answer to Drugs." Now, that last part is a very strong statement, coming from a medical doctor. The book is a marvelous reference, and I recommend it highly. I have taken 400 mg Magnesium daily, since year 2000.
