We started giving my daughter melatonin 2 years ago to help her sleep through the night. She is 7 years old was diagnosed with ADHD 3 years ago. She has always had a difficult time falling asleep and staying alseep. My thoughts are that it was due to her ADHD and her brain not being able to shut itself down enough to sleep. We found that she fell asleep better and stayed asleep much longer with the melatonin. If you have the same probs with your child, give it a test run first though.

There is mcg that u can take, I think the lower the dose the better for children especilly. I take 3mg, started w/1mg but since i've never taken a med. break its my own fault. I heard that the mg you should take is by age due to the natural production going down as we age. Also heard 3mg is appropriate for someone in their 70s. I take antidepresants, I notice if I dont take them at least a hour prior to my mel. I feel depressed the next day. fyi spelling errors not do to melatonin!!
