I've been on 6MP since at least the late 1980's. It was never meant to be a long term maintenance fix, it has helped keep things somewhat on track for me. The worst side effect I have from it is the skin cancer. Not melanoma, but at least traces of the other three. Basil, squeama and atcena. If anyone has fair skin, PLEASE PLEASE wear long sleeved tops, use sun block and wear a hat. You do NOT want to go through what I've gone through for the past five years.

I am a 63 year old male and have been taking 6MP and Asacol for my Crohn's disease for the past three years and it has been great not having to plan trips around the location of bathrooms. I now lead a full social life without worrying about anything related to my ailment. As long as this works as well as it does, I have no desire to change.

I'm a 62 year old Female. I've been taking 6MP for Crohns and have been in remission for two years now. I feel like a normal person and can travel without worries. I do have blood work done every three months to check my liver. I know it's a heavy duty drug, but IT WORKS. Nothing else did. Until something safer comes out that works as well, I'll stick with the 6MP.
