Global Patient Feedback for Neurontin (Gabapentin)

Please see our forum guidelines.

I have been prescribed Gabapentin 100mg 3x a day. My doc doesn't want me to start it until he returns next week...probably because of the potential side-affects. My problem is also diabetic neuropathy and more specifically, numbness in my privates that occured after some surgey back in November. He's giving me this for a short while to see if it'll stimulate the nerves.

I have been on Gabapentin 3 times a day for about 14 months now and am only able to take 2 a day as 3 causes hallucinations. They don't happen a lot but they do happen at least once a day and are usually minor and are so weird that I know that what I am seeing and/or hearing isn't really there so I close my eyes shake my head and when I look again it's gone. Occasionally I have to cut it back to one a day because the hallucinations will increase.
