I'm an 82 year old male and was prescribed lysinopril to reduce high blood pressure. A week later I lost strength, drastically, in both legs and developed severe pain and swelling in both knees. I stopped the drug, but the conditions remained for nearly a year, tapering off gradually until now I again have full use of my legs. It seem that I'm one of the low percentage of people who have allergic reactions to this drug.

Zestoretic works great for me. It is the only high-blood pressure medication that has. However, the generic brands DO NOT WORK for me. I only accept the name brand. My blood pressure went up to almost stroke level when my mail order company sent the wrong medicine,( it was cheaper). I do have a slight cough but a drink of water stops it quickly, chewing gum or hard candy also works. 67 years old, female
