This medication really worked for me with regard to pain and helping me to sleep. Three times this summer I had irregular heartbeat and then I heard on the news in November it was taken off the market for that very reason. I need a substitute and don't know what to take. Over the counter medications do not work.

I've been taking Darvon 65mg. for appox. 7 mo. It considerably takes away the majority of my pain & helps prevent my migraines as I have 3 dengeative discs in my neck. I get just a little drowsy when taken with a muscle relaxer, but no side effects at all for me. No sucicial thoughts or depresson - just relief. I recommend Darvon over any leading pain relievers & it isn't that expensive either. I hope you let it help you, too."You'll be glad you did!" :-}

I was prescribed propoxyphene-n 100 w/apap (generic for darvocet-n) for abdominal pain after my 3rd eptopic pregnancy. For home medication (if you can get the rest required) this is helpful to keep you very mildly sedated. I found myself, however, taking more that the recommended dosage (even with my small frame-as I have a high tolorence for pain) and mixed with the ibroprofen prescription, often with severe headache-migrane. I ended up discontinuing usage except for severe or sudden onset of pain.
