I have been on sulfasalazine since 1974 and find it fantastic. I regularly have liver and kidney blood tests, with no problems. I take the EN(enteric coated) tablets which dissolve in the bowel not the stomach

I had good results with the sulphasalazine for my rheumatoid arthritis but three weeks ago my rheumy had me stop taking it right away my liver enzymes were dangerously high due to the salazine. Make sure you get regular bloodwork done. I go bi-monthly. I was taking four a day to help with the r.a.

She takes a slew of other meds but I stopped this one because I found out it can cause drug induced lupus. She is only 16.
