What does it do?

This product is used in the treatment of Herpes or Chicken Pox. It is an anti-viral which acts to inhibit one portion of the virus reproduction.

I started taking Acyclovir on April 2011. I had Chemo Treatments for my CLL.

I started taking acyclovir after my 5th time having menengitis. I got herpes on my arm, butt and under my breasts on this last bout. Although there is no herpes in my spinal fluid. I was hositalized and had Infectous Disease docs working my case for 5 days. I have a rare virus in my central nerve system(Mallorets Disease). I take 1600 mgs of Acycolovir daily. I stil get virus's. They call them mysterous because the severity of the virus's. The only reason I do not get menengitis is beause of the Acycolovir. I have had 21 Lumbar Punctures and I do not think I could handle another.

Acyclovir has been a blessing to me! I first got herpes simplex 1 as a small child probably from a kiss from a family member. I have never had it genitally: only on the face and lips. I would get an outbreak at least once per month but usually more. It was definitely related to my period, stress, or if I got sick. Since starting on Acyclovir in 1985, I do not have outbreaks. It changed my life and my self image! I have NO side effects. Thanks, makers of Acyclovir!
