I am a 53 yr old female who has had RA for 19 years. I have been on methotrexate for quite a number of years thankfully without liver effects. However I was on Enbrel for about 1 1/2 years. After a few months I developed what I thought looked like a lupus rash on my face. My rheumatologist said it did not look like a lupus rash and referred me to a dermatologist who took one look at me and said it was adult acne. I treated the "acne" with the medication I was given to no avail. etc. etc. Finally I developed what looked like hives on my inner forearms. The rheumatologist despite my claims I thought all these symptoms where an allergic reaction from the Enbrel insisted I had Hepatitis C and tested me for such. All the tests were negative. She finally took me off the Enbrel. Guess what! All the symptoms went away! My rheumatologists decided I'm allergic to Embrel. I am now on Humira. I've been on Humira 1 yr and I have developed a redness on both of my cheeks. The one on the left side of my face itches (this is very similar to the redness I had with the Enbril). Has anyone had similar simptoms of this redness/rash with Humira???? or Embril? or am I the only one? Thanks.

I am a 52 year old male I 've had RA for over 10 Years. I take Methotrexate 20 MG a week. I have been on Humira a little over 2 months. It seems to help with my RA. Last Doctor visit my joint swelling was only in my left elbow. A little over a week ago I started having sharp pains in my legs and numbness. I thought it was my weight, up about 10 lbs. Now I wonder is it the Humira.

I have been on daily Hydroxychloraquine 200 mg and weekly 20 mg Methotrexate for a year. I have pretty significant side effects on methotrexate. I feel flu like and have mental cloudiness the following day..despite taking Leucovorin Calcium and a daily folic acid supplement. However the benefits of methotrexate have outwieghed side effects until the last few months. I took my first injection of humira two weeks ago. I have high hopes for this drug. I do believe I am experiencing an increase in my fatigue levels and I am a little more irritable as well. I am really hoping these side effects go away the longer I take the injections. Has anyone experienced the same thing? I have not been weaned off the methotrexate as of yet...the M.D. said it would take awhile for the Humira to begin working. Anyone with real experience taking Humira and methotrexate,....I would love to get your take on your side effect experiences if you have any.
