My doctor gave me Ativan to take as needed for panic attacks. I will have a panic attack while inside of an MRI or sometimes it will happen in my sleep while I am dreaming about being in a confined space (I wake up with a panic attack) or it would occur for no paticular reason. I have trained myself to do deep breathing exercises with my eyes close and to think about something that would make me smile (my grandchildren), pretty flowers or something funny. This works for me! No more Ativan!

I have read the comments on this site about becoming addicted to Ativan.I was fortunate in this regard with my panic attacks that I could guage the severity of the attacks and medicate accordingly.Mentally I realised that the attacks would end after they started this helped me not to become addicted.

I started getting severe panic attacks and my specialist prescribed Ativan 1mg .I would get these severe panic attacks almost every day.I was told I could use 2 tablets if needed.The frequency of panic attacks deminished.My GP said I could take a maximum of 4 tablets which I did on +- 3 occasions.To date I might take one tablet in the course of four months if that. The side effects for me were loss of energy and falling asleep immediately I got into bed.
