74 yr old female. I stopped using due to dry mouth and constipation.

75 year old female on Detrol LA 7 years. Bladder pinning surgery partially corrected incontinence but needed additional help. Diagnosis of narrow angle glaucoma necessitated lft and rt eye iridotomies before Detrol treatment. Detrol eliminated need for @ 30 minute bathroom visits. Now go up to 8 hours without urgency. Only side effect has been occ. dry mouth when skip a full glass of water. If I forget to take pill daily, problem returns immediately. I carry emergency supply at all times.

I tried Detrol for 30 days as a less expensive alternative to Vesicare for terrible sense of urgency and frequency as a secondary problem; Vesicare offers me better control and at 1/2 the cost. Working with my urologist we have adjusted my medication to 1/2 Tablet of Vesicare per day (he indicated I could just take one every other day if I chose). One capsule of Detrol per day did not provide me with the total relief I have experienced with the Vesicare. I have been on meds. for about 5 months now. 71 year old male. Have a wonderful Day and good luck.
