I am a 48 year old female who is taking Estradil 2mg a day for menopause. (My mother went through it early too) I had a full hysterectomy two years ago and doubled the dose shortly afterwards. This medication is a lifesaver, as I am a monster without it. My doctor wants me on some other hormones but the insurance company won't pay for it.

Dr recommended estrace to help with cervical prolapse. After 3 days, I started having night sweats and hot flashes; after 1 week, I had vaginitis. I suffered for another week, and then said the devil w/it.

I have used Estrace cream for several years. I do believe it has many benefits. Helping to control or eliminate UTI's is a definite positive aspect of its usage. I am not too concerned with any of the hype against it. The hormones which one produces throughout the fifty years or so of the productive period are normal and beneficial. I find it difficult to understand why .....all of a sudden;;;; those things should prove detrimental to my well being.
