Global Patient Feedback for Evista

I have always been an avid exerciser and do not lead a sedentary life. Due to osteoporosis (in spite of all precautions) my doctor prescribed Evista. I was on it for about 8 months when I experienced severe swelling in one of my wrists and a week later in one of my legs. It was determined that I had developed blood clots. I stopped taking the drug immediately and was placed on a blood thinner. It was an unbelievably painful experience. Age: 57 Female

I am 74 years old and have been taking Evista for 8 years to prevent osteoporosis. About 18 months ago I started having leg cramps quite often. The doctor suggested I cut the dosage to a half a pill per day which has alleviated the leg cramps and doesn't seem to have had an adverse effect on my bone density scores.

I have been taking Evista for 12 years for treatment of breast cancer. I still have hot flashes and leg/foot cramps at night. Now I have chronic Atrial Fibrillation (AFib). Could long term Evista be contributing to my AFIB? I would love to get off this drug, but my doctor recommends that I stay on it. Because of the AFib, I now am on a blood thinner. 68 year old female
