Global Patient Feedback for Gemzar
Please see our forum guidelines.
My husband is being given gemzar again. This time alone not in combo with cisplatin. His blood count for red and whit blood cells fell after just 1 treatment so he had to postpone the next treatment for 1 week. What we have found is to really load up on protein. Eat as much protein as possible it helps to increase white blood cell count. We also added atkins protein shakes but they have a lot of calories. In 1 week wbc went from .86 to 5.86. He also takes .28 mg iron every other day and a multi vitamin daily.
