Global Patient Feedback for Glucotrol (Glipizide)
Please see our forum guidelines.
I have been on Metformin for about 15 years and last year added Glipizide. My A1C levels have gone from over 8 to 7.0 in less than 10 months. I have worked very hard over the last 4 months and have lost 8 pounds which is better than gaining 8 pounds or more. Years ago I lost 65 pounds and still have 40 to go to get to my goal weight and possibly no meds. I feel that adding Glipizide has given me confidence that I can achieve my goal this year. Being 64 pushes me even more to get the weight down.

I was on Actos until it was taken off the market in our area. I am now on Glipizide but I have dizzy spells and when I have those, I have blurred vision. It also keeps my glucose to low. The dosage is 5mg. Mabel, in WV
