What does it do?

Has anyone had weight gain while on herceptin treatments. Also has anyone had a significant decrease in heart function. I went from 77% down to 50% heart function and still have 3 more months to go.

The main side effect I have experienced is that it raises my blood sugar level to the 400 level. Diabetes is a minor inconvenience I am now dealing with after the chemo and steriods. I had suspected the herceptin was causing the rise, and the during the last treatment I took my sugar level every 30 minutes and watched it go from 115 up to 298 when I took an insulin shot and had a salad for lunch while getting the rest of my treatment. This seemed to help as it did not go over 320 this time. Other side effects seem to be my hair is growning slower and my nails are soft and split easily.

has anyone had to stop taking herceptin due to decreased heart function.
