I take 5 LorTab 10,s/day for severe pain I have tried every pain pill there is and these work. I have been on these for 9 years. I have had to put up with constipation for all this time but I consider this a small problem to the pain I have. If you know of good constipation meds for this I would persue? THX

When I was on Hospice I received 10/500 (2 four times a day) and 10mg methadone 2x a day. My dr in the nursing home continued it after I got off Hospice. I had taken methadone for 9 months when I moved to a different nursing home. Constipation wasn't a major problem -- I would take something for it when I hadn't gone in 2 or 3 days. The dr here wasn't "comfortable" with giving methadone so he pulled it -- cold turkey! Not pretty. Hang in there, never give up, you are important 2 a lot.

My advanced secondary progressive MS causes constant severs pain. I have taken hydrocodone for years and it is the only thing that takes a little of the edge off. Instead of actually taking care of my pain everyone is more concerned with 1) liver damage and 2) addiction. I'm bedridden in a nursing home with both legs paralized and one arm partially so. Liver damage and addiction are the least of my worries! The dr is not suffering as I am. Let's look at individuals for once.
