I just began taking the generic for Ritalin for ADD. I realize I had problems when younger as a child, however back then the doctors drugged you with tranquilizers such as Phenobarbital, etc....I am 63 and notice that I focus better and feel so much better. Except for one problem, it is increasing my blood pressure and I have been on Metroprolol for that problem for 8 yrs. I will be seeing my doctor in 3 wks to evaluate the affectiveness of the Ritalin. I guess I don't know what she will say about the higher blood pressure.

I use my perscriptions as I see fit to my needs, I do my own dosage orperscription needs as I see fit, I do have the perscriptions, seroquel, wellbutrin, ativan, and ritalin, I do not take them as percribed, don't get me wrong, i have been accused of refusing or not taking my scripts as told, but seriously, after almost 13 years on the other side of the psychiatrist whom did evaluations on me, i was doing my own evaluations on the psyche, I know my meds, what works, what does not, how to take, when to take, how to diagnose a ilness, how to maintain and teat my conditions, the whole works, I am a Psychiatrist, I just don't have the degree and certificates in that feild of Phychiatric and doctrine, BUT, I can Diagnose someone, I just can't write a perscription, But...to let ya know, and I am sure alot of you can relate to me on this fact, I can give the person I diagnosed a contact number to a street dealer whom has that perscription for the treatment of the illness...I was in mental health hospital units "The Looney Bin, The Ward" and I didn't get help as it should be helped. I just got to meet friends who know all the secrets the doctors and psychiatrist and personal...do not want anybody to know, I just happened to be too informed, and its well known to them, so I am one who gets the worst of the worst when it come to being treated in the hospital or many of the facities who treat mental illness, I got me a bad reputation right now, the worst possible, the ending of the bad repuations.
