What does it do?

This product is used for the treatment of high blood pressure, and is also used to treat patients with a history of angina or heart attack. It works by blocking 'beta' receptors that play an important role in regulating heart function.

Since this medication is expensive and there is now a Generic brand called Metoprolol tartrate 50 Mg which I now take one 50 mg in the morning and one 50 mg in the evening.

My Mom took 1 Toprol in 2006 prescribed for a rapid heart she never had before and within 24 hours she was dead !!!!

Hi. I've been taking Lopressor now for almost a year and I have had no bad side effects. I do however recommend you follow your doctor's recommendations so you will not have any problems he or she does not know about. Linda
