I use this as a topical cream in combination with desonide lotion for my seborrheic dermatitis on my face and scalp and chest. Not sure if the side effects mentioned here by Mediguard are applicable to topical use

Thank God for this med! I use the cream for my strange rashes and flaky skin on my face. Doc said I'm allergic to the fungus that lives naturally on our skin. I also use the shampoo and for the first time in my life.....I can wear black!!!

I take 200mg of Ketoconazole once a day for a systemic yeast problem and it has helped with the psoriasis on my scalp. I have had psoriasis of the scalp for a few years and have used many different prescription shampoos as ordered by my dermotologist. Nothing has seemed to help until I starting taking Ketoconazole. However.. I am concerned now because I have always had very thick hair and my hair on top is thinning quite a bit. Can this be because of the Ketoconazole?
