I've been on this now for about 2 years and it's ok, but I wonder if I truly need to stay on it. My Dr. never really said one way or the other. I was told I have to stay on some kind of ant acid type med for rest of life, but not sure about this one. Might try stopping it and see how it goes. Was never really sure why I was put on this medicine anyways. From what I've been reading it almost sounds like I might actually have gastroparesis on top of the other issue he found.

I was having a lot of shoulder and arm pain probably due to a herniated cervical disc. The doctor put me on nortriptyline. At first he said experiment with the dosage, but probably no more than 40 mg a day. I used about 20 at first for a little while but soon found that 10 mg a day was enough. When I stop using it the pain comes back. I started using it 15 years ago, and I still take it.
