This is one of the medications I am on for my chronic migraine condition. As to its effectiveness? I still have a headache every single day so..........

I was having a lot of shoulder and arm pain probably due to a herniated cervical disc. The doctor put me on nortriptyline. At first he said experiment with the dosage, but probably no more than 40 mg a day. I used about 20 at first for a little while but soon found that 10 mg a day was enough. When I stop using it the pain comes back. I started using it 15 years ago, and I still take it.

How do you stop taking this drug? I'm so tired of not getting any sleep, being constapated, plus dry mouth. I just want to be off of it. 81 year old female.
