I have been taking dilantin for some 60 years and I have not had a seizure in those years. I did have peridontal work done about 20 years ago, but my gums have been in good shape since then. It is a drug that definitely changed my life for the better.

I have been on Dilantin for about 10 yrs now as well about 10 other medications, I'm also a diabetic. I don't see many of the possible side effects accept for my teeth. My teeth are decaying faster than they should at 50 yrs old. Soon I will be getting what are left of my top teeth removed and an upper plate will replace them. I do not know if the dilantin has caused this or any of my other meds for that matter. Being a diabetic, epilectic, and asmatic makes it hard to figure it all out!

It will be two years now,But after taking Dilantin for over 50 years, they changed their delivery system from a capseal to a capsule. Nobody was told of the change, not pharmacists, doctors or patients. My dilantin level went crazy, I had a seizure whike driving and totalled my car. Have regained health but my pharmacist replaced the Pfizer product with a generic that is contained in the capseal delivery system. Pfizer was wrong to change and not tell anyone.
