I am 79 yrs old, and taken Prilosec 20mg for over 25 years and have had no side effects. It does a great job.

I used to take generic Nexium (thanks to HMO) but had a terrible cough from it. Dr. changed me to Omeprazole 40mg and no cough, and it took care of my acid reflux.

I used to take Nexium, but switched to Omeprazole with Magnesium capsule which works better for me, I take one in the am and one in the pm. I took 40mg of Nexium 20 mg just doesn't work. I have had severe heartburn and acid reflux for years, I also worried about the long term use, but after reading about what heartburn and acid reflux can do to you, I decided that the side effects are minor when compared to what could happen if I did not take it. 62 yr. old female
