I have been on Tamoxifen since 4/09. I've experienced hot flashes and increasing joint pain but I can deal with that as long as I think the drug is doing its job with my cancer. However, in 1/10 I started getting hives. Started with a dozen or so every morning and every evening but now I wake up with over 100 all over my body. I've been to an internist, 2 allergists, and an immunologist. They all say it's Tamoxifen. My oncologist says it isn't. Anyone else on Tamoxifen experience hives?

I have reached the 4 year mark of faithfully (never missing a single dose) taking Tamoxifen. My goal is 5 year treatment. This year has been extremely difficult because of the oppressively hot, humid, muggy Summer. Whew! The first two (2) years of taking Tamoxifen were very hard on me. But I came through. I encourage everyone to stay with it. It has enabled me to survive. :)

Has anyone else read the study that came down the pipe today about antidepressants increasing breast cancer in women? Very disturbing news, indeed. (I'm on Tamoxifen and Amitriptyline (at bedtime for pain). What's next?
