After taking Topamax for 5 months it's seems like it makes my mind wired .I had been on it before about a year ago and that time I was on it for about 2 years. When I was on it before I lost a lot of weight and that was the good side effect. I stopped it because I thought I was losing my mind. I felt , even though I couldn't prove it, the medicine was making my mind think weird things . Almost like I was paranoid . I would speak slower than usual because I would forget what I wanted to say.

I've been on topamax (generic) for about six years. Every side effect, imaginable, I've got - weight loss, which is tapering off, I'm stupid - with my thoughts, kidney stones, and now I've been diagnosed with osteoporosis at the age of 51. Would like to know if anyone else has had any problems with early onset of osteoporosis due to this drug. I would like to try something else for migraines - but don't know of anything else to take. After being on many seizure meds and suffering the horrible side effects of several I did my own research and found there to be fewer side effects on Topamax than others. Been on it several months now, and other than the initial "getting used to" period you have with all meds of this sort, the side effects were minimal. So far I'm liking it. I hope it continues to control them and work this well for yrs to come.
