I used to take Vytorin and it treated my high cholesterol tremendously: however, the enzymes in my muscles was 3x the normal level resulting in overwhelming pain in my arms, shoulders, & neck. I tried several other medications only to discover that I cannot take statins. I loved the results but hated the side effects. I now take Lavaza. The Lavaza works well but not as well as the Vytorin and is more expensive (it is just the purest form of Omega 3/fish oil), and it causes dry mouth and after-taste when you burp.
