Lundbeck Inc. No Longer To Make Mebaral

Lundbeck Inc. is no longer able to manufacture Mebaral CIV (brand of mephobarbital) 32mg tablets, 50mg tablets and 100mg tablets. The company expects its limited remaining supply to be used by the end of 2011. Once the current stock of Mebaral is sold and dispensed to patients, Mebaral will no longer be available in the U.S.

Mebaral contains the active ingredient mephobarbital. It is used to relieve anxiety and tension and is also used to control seizures (tonic-clonic and absence types).
