What does this mean?

The risk of illness or health problems following the use of these recalled Claritin Eye drops is low. However, as a precaution the companies involved are issuing a voluntary recall at the warehouse/retail level. Although this is not a consumer level recall, several retailers are offering to provide refunds for the recalled product. If you have any of the recalled Claritin Eye drops in your home, you may wish to take your bottle to the store where you purchased the product to see if your store is offering a refund.

Voluntary Recall of Certain Lots of Claritin Eye Drops

Several retail stores have posted information about a voluntary recall of certain lots of Claritin Eye drops, sold over-the-counter (OTC). According to Schering Plough Consumer Products Department, Claritin Eye drops lot numbers JD2529V, JD2530, JD2531, JD2432, JD2533, JD3861, and JH9861 are being recalled because these lots measured at a low pH during routine testing and did not meet the manufacturer's quality standards. To date, there have been no reports of adverse events caused by these recalled products.

Please note, no other Claritin products are involved in this recall.
