Heart Failure

members with Heart Failure

Heart failure is a condition caused when the heart cannot pump blood well enough to meet the body's needs. Common causes of heart failure include heart valve problems, and damage to heart muscle from heart disease, previous heart attacks and/or long-standing high blood pressure. Heart failure can significantly affect one's mobility, and often causes fluid to build-up (edema) in the ankles (particularly when standing up) and in the lungs (particularly when lying down).
