This product is used primarily in the treatment of various cancers. It works by promoting the formation and inhibiting the disassembly of stable microtubules which then inhibits mitosis in cancer cells.

Black Box Warning:
This product has a black box warning relating to suppression of the immune system which may put the user at risk of infections. The paclitaxel form has a warning about prescribers needing to be familiar with complete prescribing information and an increased risk of anaphylaxis/severe allergic reaction.
